Since 9/11 security demands on the Coast Guard have greatly increased. The Regulars determined that there were not enough Armorors to do the job of coaching required to lead up to annual requalification.The Auxiliary Firearms Coaching Unit was originated to aument the Armorors and coach the Regulars/Reserve in the use of the Beretta 9mm, M16 and shotgun. The photos below were "shot" at the Suffolk County Police Academy Range.Flotilla 1309 contributed two members to the AFCU: FC Rob Spielman and IPFC Donald Bromberg. Both men have extensive experience in firearms coaching. |
